This past year I’ve been writing Johannes Kepler’s story, and it has been a fascinating journey of research. I’ve delved into the catechism he memorized as a child, the curricula of the schools he attended, and his writings about himself and his family. The most edifying part of my research was reading his scientific treatises, where he inserted praise to the Lord in the midst of describing his three laws of planetary motion.
Kepler wrote: And
may He effect that we, the imitators of God by the help of the Holy Ghost,
should rival the perfection of His works in sanctity of life, for which He
chose His church throughout the Earth and, by the blood of His Son, cleansed it
from sins.

Kepler in The Harmony of the World
